The other day, we had a question for the military legal offices working with MEB/PEB cases. The message box was full at the Washington, DC headquarters when we called. On impulse, we tried telephoning seven different satellite installations the website defined as major facilities providing MEB/PEB assistance to military members.
Of the seven installations called, only one had a “live” individual answering the phone. For several, the phone just kept ringing. Others had a recorded voice message.
We called during normal work hours.
We doubt that our results were unusual – we have to presume that this is likely what happens to anyone seeking help from these offices.
Frankly, we were aghast. This is certainly no way to treat our returning heroes.
No one to answer the phone? That’s plain intolerable.
