Scene – Today, at the Ft Leavenworth military prison. Two inmates discuss their cases.
First prisoner: “ I was NCO convicted for fondling three women under my supervision.”
Second prisoner: “ I was a brigadier general who did the same thing.”
We doubt such a conversation will ever take place. Unless we stand corrected, no general/flag officer has ever served a day of confinement in a military prison since the UCMJ was enacted in 1951. Sadly, plenty of ammunition here for those who claim there is “a law for the rich and another law for the poor ” in military jurisprudence.
